Dining at SeaWorld San Antonio While Learning About Sea Animals

We hope you are having a great week!

Recently, we were invited to SeaWorld San Antonio to discover their new attraction - Dining with Shamu! This was an incredible experience and it is a "must do" attraction for your family when visiting Sea World San Antonio!

The experience is focused on sustainable seafood and learning about sustainability at the same time! It was also a great way to meet other families who love to learn about sea animals as much as we do! As a former science teacher, my husband is always eager to introduce our kindergartener to STEM (science, technology, engineering, and technology).

This event features an all-you-can-eat buffet for your family and it is vegetarian, pescatarian, and vegan friendly!

Here's more information about the experience - https://seaworldparks.com/en/seaworld-sanantonio/Dine-and-Shop/Dining/Dine-with-Shamu/

How to Make the Most of One Day in San Antonio

So it's Saturday morning and Mom leaves the hotel for her conference so it's up to Dad to plan a fun and educational day in San Antonio.  Since we're in downtown San Antonio, the car is in a parking garage with no in/out privileges.

After checking the local bus website, I discovered the Viva Culture line (11).  My daughter wanted to go to the zoo.  The zoo was on the bus route (inner happy dance).  The concierge informed us that the bus stop was about a five-minute walk away.

For just $2.75, I purchased a day pass. My daughter didn't need a pass given her age.  The bus even has free high speed wifi! Our Paw-Paw, who lives in San Antonio, decided to join us!

The Viva Missions route (40) includes stops at the San Antonio Missions World Heritage Site.  The Viva Centro route (301) includes stops at the Convention Center, the Riverwalk, and the Alamodome.

The name of the bus system means "life"/"live". This was a great This was a great way to incorporate Spanish along the way to the zoo.

The bus dropped us off right in front of the zoo.  The driver showed us the stop for the return trip on the other side of the street.  The bus also picks up from the zoo every 30 minutes.

The zoo was so much fun!

Other stops on the Viva culture route include the Witte Museum, the San Antonio Museum of Art, the McNay Art Museum, and the Alamo.

We stopped at the Alamo on the return trip since we had a day pass.  My daughter got to learn about Texas history through the buildings, artifacts, and storytellers dressed in time-inspired clothing.

The stop by our hotel put us right by the River Walk!  A great way to experience the River Walk is by taking a boat tour.  The tour guide will tell you about the history behind the buildings, statues, and flood prevention systems.

After visiting the Riverwalk, we returned to our hotel to prepare for late checkout, another great way to make the most of a day trip.

Have you made a quick trip to San Antonio? What do you recommend?

The Sesame Street Bay of Play at Sea World San Antonio!

Parents - We admit, it is difficult to find nationally-themed adventures and experiences for your child without traveling outside of Texas. Our little one loves Sesame Street and we wanted her to have the Sesame Street experience within the state of Texas. We looked no further than San Antonio...SeaWorld San Antonio to be exact!

Seaworld San Antonio offers an amazing Sesame Street Bay of Play that my little one has experienced throughout the past couple of years. The Sesame Street Bay of Play offers several rides, fun-filled shows, playground, and a splash pad (the Little Bird's Splash).

If you have a little one who loves Sesame Street, definitely take them to the Sesame Street Bay of Play at Sea World when you visit San Antonio!

Become a Sea Lion High Graduate at Sea World San Antonio this Summer!

During our AdventureCon15 experience, we were excited to hear and see the Sea Lion High show at SeaWorld San Antonio! This show is a must-do experience for kids of all ages! There are five shows a day and plenty of seats under a large sunscreen (to shield the little ones from the rays...sunrays)!

Sesame Street Brunch at SEAWORLD San Antonio! Exciting!

This year on Cyber Monday, we decided to SPLURGE on our 2014 travel plans and we purchased a annual pass to Sea World San Antonio!

We are super excited to introduce our little one to Shamu and several Sesame Street characters! We cannot wait!

Making Our Weekend Count at the JW Marriott Hill Country Resort in San Antonio, Texas - Our Search for the #GreatPumpkin

This weekend we had a chance to visit the JW Marriott resort in San Antonio, TX while visiting the in-laws! One of the primary reasons for visiting the resort was to (of course) make our weekend count! In addition to the primary reason, we wanted to see the much anticipated #GreatPumpkin in the lobby at the resort. This vegetable/fruit was definitely a great attraction for families and couples! EVERYONE had a picture with the Great JW Marriott Pumpkin.
