Making Our Weekend Count at the JW Marriott Hill Country Resort in San Antonio, Texas - Our Search for the #GreatPumpkin

This weekend we had a chance to visit the JW Marriott resort in San Antonio, TX while visiting the in-laws! One of the primary reasons for visiting the resort was to (of course) make our weekend count! In addition to the primary reason, we wanted to see the much anticipated #GreatPumpkin in the lobby at the resort. This vegetable/fruit was definitely a great attraction for families and couples! EVERYONE had a picture with the Great JW Marriott Pumpkin.

I loved the activity guide for this property, because it always includes a wealth of family-based activities! The downside of visiting this hotel on the selected weekend was the PGA Golf Tournament. There was definitely a different atmosphere at the resort this time - including less activities, but everyone I encountered was SMILING and having a great time!

Great Toddler Activities!

1 - There is a grassy area between the fountain and the Cibolo Moon restaurant (at the back of the main building). I kindly referred to this area of the toddler green because each time we visited this area of the resort, there were toddlers with their families enjoying utopia (kicking a Melissa and Doug ball, etc.) on the "toddler green".

2 - S'Mores - On the weekend we visited the resort, there was a fire pit featuring "make your own s'mores" (supplies and EVERYTHING were provided by the resort). Thank you JW Marriott! This activity was EXCELLENT and definitely the most memorable! My little one had her first s'more!

3 - Many animal and educational activities were mentioned on the schedule, but we did not stay at the resort long enough to experience these activities. Most of these activities occurred after 1pm.

4 - The pool was open! - My sweet toddler saw the "aqua" and immediately wanted to jump into the very enticing pool, but we did not pack a swimsuit this time. :( However, I was VERY excited that this option was available for the families visiting the resort.

One of the highlights of our visit was the BREAKFAST!
My husband and I conversed about the breakfast the ENTIRE drive back to north Texas! AH-MAZING! I had the cold breakfast (complete with oatmeal) and my hubby (and toddler) had the hot breakfast (complete with sausage, pancakes, etc.).

It was one of the best breakfast meals that I have EVER had a resort! Here are some pictures!

And we really liked the library on the main floor!

Next time...

The next time our family visits the resort (hopefully around Christmas), I will definitely pack a swim suit for everyone in our family. In addition, I would definitely pack a few Smart Water bottles, because the water was quite expensive at the resort. <- We purchased water from the store downstairs.

When in doubt, we purchase Go Picnic products! I never travel without them! My favorite Go Picnic product is Turkey Pepperoni and Cheese! #Yum!

In addition, I would look at the schedule ahead of time to make sure that our stay coincides with activities occurring at the resort.

Until next time, we are seeking new ways to "make our weekends count"!

Sincerely,

The Weekends Count Family!
