We cannot wait to hear from you!

Let's Explore La Madeleine Express at Walmart in Granbury, Texas!

We love traveling and discovering different types of food along the way. However, it is great to walk along a street and to see a sign letting you know that your favorite restaurant is up ahead. This is the RUSH that I feel when I see the La Madeleine sign. Especially, now that the restaurant is in our town - Granbury, Texas!

@WeekendsCount

This is ONE MORE option for visitors who are discovering our town to experience - the food that they know and love. They can grab a cup of coffee and head to our city's walking trail. Or they can grab a soup and have a fun afternoon in the park! I am excited that I can drive a mile to my favorite restaurant to experience the Tomato Basil Soup! This is going to be especially important since it is officially soup weather!

La Madeleine in Granbury, Texas!
We love La Madeleine and we would travel to Fort Worth FREQUENTLY to experience the amazing baguettes and delectable soup. This was UNTIL I discovered La Madeleine expanded to our local Walmart store with their La Madeleine Express locations. I was SO excited to track the days until they opened.

@WeekendsCount

Just in case you were wondering, here's their menu! It featured breakfast items, sandwiches, salads, soups, and my daughter's favorite pizza and pasta!

Which one would you choose? We are a fan of the soups and the salads! Yes, it sounds simple, but these items are OH SO GOOD!

@WeekendsCount

Recently, we explored their location in Granbury, Texas. Yes, it was an amazing experience! From the baguettes and sandwiches to the classic Chicken Penne Pasta to the amazing coffee selection, this was an experience unlike any other in Granbury. We have the chance to experience food from an amazing restaurant without traveling 40 miles to the DFW area! I was beyond excited!

Conversing at Chick-Fil-A on a Saturday Afternoon in Granbury, Texas

Our weekends have been so busy lately that it has been incredibly difficult to make our Weekends Count. This weekend (Labor Day weekend, we've made a concerted effort to have much needed family conversations over meals.

Tonight's "Conversing at Chick-Fil-A" conversation occurred over two superfood salads, one grilled chicken kid's meal with apple sauce and milk, and one Chick-Fil-A Chicken Sandwich.

We had an incredible conversation about our caring for our little one's grandfather, the importance of eating nutritious food, and good behavior.

Our meal concluded with a few laps around the Chick-Fil-A playground and a quick drive back to the house to start our bedtime process.

We look forward to having another "Conversing a Chick-Fil-A" conversation soon!

Spending a Texas Weekend a Labor Day Lake Fest in Granbury Texas!

O

We love living near a resort town like Granbury, Texas. In fact, there is ALWAYS something occurring in Hood County. Labor Day Weekend is one of my FAVORITE weekends in Hood County!

The Labor Day Lake Fest will begin on Saturday, September 3rd and will end on Monday, September 5th. This festival is definitely one of the most unique Labor Day experiences that I have had in Texas! When I include the word "unique," I mean sales almost everywhere and fun throughout the city. Of course, we are always on the lookout for kid-friendly activities and this event will have several activities for the younger women in your family! These events include: games for children, food, and a petting zoo!

Saturday Labor Day Lake Fest Highlights!
Our family is from East Texas on the Louisiana border and we love seafood! We love everything from fish to shrimp to crawfish and we are looking forward to the Labor Day Lake Fest - Fish Fry! This event is sponsored by Brookshire's Grocery and will be held at the Hewlett Park (across from the Hilton Garden Inn and the Granbury City Beach). The Fish Fry (potentially shrimp) will feature fish (of course!), fries, cole slaw, beans, and potato salad. The event will also have hot dogs and hamburgers for individuals who do not prefer fish! :) One of the events that we are REALLY anticipating is the inaugural Lighted Boat Parade on Lake Granbury! We've only seen an parade similar to We've only seen a parade similar to this one at the Kemah Board Walk near Galveston, Texas and that experience is over four hours away! Yes, we will take the local experience. This event will occur on Sunday, September 4th at 8:00 pm.

Sunday Labor Day Lake Fest Highlights!
Sunday's schedule features Music on the Square!

These events are GREAT photo opportunities for your family as well! Bring along a neat camera and capture memories for your family photo album. Check out our pictures from the Texas Independence Festival a few months ago!

Have a great week and plan for the weekend...Labor Day Weekend! Please let us know if you have ANY questions about Labor Day Weekend in Granbury.

Cici's Pizza - Why Our Family Loves a Healthy, Hearty, Fun, & Affordable Alternative to the Everyday Meal

As a millennial family, we are always searching for neat ways to have fun on a budget! We were very excited to see Cici's Pizza arrive back in Hood County. When my husband and I first moved to Central Texas, we had a Cici's Pizza in our town and we loved going to Cici's Pizza for a quick bite to eat after work.

It seemed that there were other plans in store for the restaurant and the older location closed. We know that there were surprises in store for our growing town and its population. Then, we read a news article in the Hood County news that informed the county that we would receive a Cici's Pizza in the Summer of 2016.

This was welcome news for our family, because our little one never experienced a Cici's Pizza's before this experience! We were there on one of the first days that the restaurant opened. On these days, the newest customers experiences lines that extended outside of the door.

The food was great! Wonderful salad, great pasta, amazing pizza, and our family's favorite...desserts! Great experience and the staff was wonderful as well!

We paid for our meal and we enjoyed the rest of the day! Thank you Cici's Pizza! Thank you for coming back to Hood County! Our family's summer and fall seasons are now complete, because this millennial mom and dad do not have to struggle with the next day's meal plans. Now, we have Cici's Pizza - a healthy, hearty, fun alternative to the everyday meal!

Have a great week and plan for the weekend!

10 Must Do Family Travel Experiences in Granbury, Texas

We love Granbury, Texas! It is one of the best towns in Texas, but it is also one of the most interesting places in Texas for our family! It has some of the key items that families who embark on road trips across Texas need for their journey - great shopping, awesome food, and amazing people who are very helpful in making your weekend or week-long adventure a life long memory for your family!

Here are some key items that you MUST DO when visiting Granbury with your family, "10 Must Do Family Travel Experiences in Granbury, Texas".

1 - Stay at the Hilton Garden Inn (Wonderful Weekend Brunch)
The Hilton Garden Inn is the best hotel in Granbury. Our family loves to stay there during Texas staycations or when our family wants to visit the area!

2 - Rent a Kayak, Bicycle at Waterside Sports!
This has been one of the best, newest, family-friendly businesses that we have encountered. You can rent bicycles, kayaks, and other fun items at the Waterside Sports booths at the Granbury City Beach!

3 -  Play in the Granbury City Park
We love the Granbury City Park! The playground is under a very large pavilion to shade children from the hot sun. It is a great place to experience in the morning or in the early evening! Awesome experience, by far! There are also great (covered) picnic areas as well!

4 - Have Breakfast or Lunch at Paradise Bistro on the Granbury Square
Oh my goodness, their breakfast items, coffee, and other morning treats (and sweets) are amazing! Enjoy the atmosphere, the art, and the fact that the Paradise Bistro and Coffee Company provides a great view of the square. This is also a great Pokestop for your family if you play Pokemon Go! Also, there is a great Restaurant.com coupon for the Bistro as well!

5 -  Experience the Granbury City Beach
The Granbury City Beach has a large sandy area, great parking, and an amazing atmosphere. The kids can have fun in the kid-centric splash pad while mom and dad have a relaxing moment!

6 -  Visit the Smallest State Park in Texas!
The smallest state park in Texas according to the Texas Historical Commission is the Grave of Elizabeth Crockett in Acton, Texas. Shall we say more? You should definitely check this historical attraction off of your list!

7 - Have Dinner at Palio's Pizza Cafe!
This is such great restaurant (Palio's Pizza Cafe) that is a newcomer to Granbury! I've never seen the parking lot empty!

8 - Prepare a Picnic by Purchasing Custom Ready to Eat Meals from the Kroger Marketplace Deli!
This is such a neat experience! As a millennial family, we are always on the lookout for neat experiences that our little one can experience without having to make a huge effort! That is why we LOVE selecting our meat (or main dish) and two side dishes as part of the ready-to-eat meals in the Kroger Marketplace Deli! We usually select these on Sunday and make a Sunday meal out of our salmon dish and some wonderful corn casserole. In the fall and early spring, we plan to take our meals to the Granbury City Beach!

9 - Experience Farm-Raised Food, Cottage Foods, and Hand Made Items at the Acton Local Market
The Acton Local Market is a DO NOT MISS Saturday Event when visit Granbury on the 2nd, 4th and 5th Saturday of each month Saturdays. We will usually go at the beginning of the day with reusable bags in our hands. The potatoes are delectable and the atmosphere is very family friendly! Our family loves this experience on Saturdays!

The Granbury Board Walk is a wonderful experience in early mornings after breakfast at the Hilton Garden Inn or during the early evenings after visiting the Granbury City Beach. This is truly a refreshing experience when visiting Granbury!

Letterboxing in North Texas - A New Family Adventure in Almost Every Small Town (No Cost Geocaching)

This week, we began a new adventure exploring our area of Texas through letter boxing. Last summer, while reading a book on activities for kids, I discovered the concept of letter boxing. I was surprised to discover that there were a few letterboxes in our area.

Our first letterbox included the following directions...
