Hotels with Your Family and Packing Tips - A Quick Video for Family Travelers

Oh you guys! We absolutely love to traveling on a budget and we wanted to share our hacks and tips with all of you! A couple of weeks ago, I (Jennifer) decided to sponsor online workshops focused on "Family Travel Hacks and Tips for Any Budget".

Thursday - Chapter four, “Hotels with Kids”, focused on items to consider when booking your hotel, when you arrive to your hotel, and when checking out of your hotel.

Friday - Chapter six, “Innovative Ways to Pack for Family Travel Experiences”, highlights innovative ways to integrate binder clips and zipper bags on your trip. These everyday items can be lifesavers for families on-the-go!

Each day had a different theme and I wanted to share them with you!

The book is NOT required, but to purchase the e-book before the course begins, click here - https://www.amazon.com/Family-Travel-Hacks-Tips-Budget-ebook/dp/B0772NS8JV/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&qid=1516159352&sr=8-1&keywords=family+travel+hacks&linkCode=sl1&tag=weekcoun-20&linkId=b30eccd84a55189341981456b6eaa4a9.

Okay, what will I be asked to do?
The ONLY thing that we are asking you to do is to share a post per day on your Facebook profile about what you are learning. That's it!

If you have any questions, please let us know! We will invite you to the group after you RSVP.

Cutting the Cable Cord and Saving Money for Your Family Weekend Activities with Mohu and Roku Devices on Amazon

Our family decided to cut our access to cable around four years ago! We LOVE travel and we had to find a way to afford it. So, we decided to save money for our family travel and activities by cutting the cable cord. After that cord cutting moment, we decided to purchase a Roku device from Amazon to view our favorite network television shows on ABC, NBC, PBS (and PBS Kids), etc.

Also, we purchased a television antenna as well. This has been a GAME changer for our family because we get to watch local TV channels. We are HUGE fans of the Mohu antenna and we've been able to watch around local TV channels in the DFW area (including PBS Kids). The Mohu antenna looks like this:

This post contains affiliate links to help you build your shopping list and travel list for your family. We are passionate about the product and the experiences listed in this post, but we also wanted to provide easy links you can click to purchase products for your busy lifestyle.

The Roku device is a simple device that you link to your television and your wireless internet. It takes around 3-5 minutes to set up and then you are good to go! It looks like this:

In fact, we have a over 294 Roku Channels (mostly free) to watch our favorite shows and YouTubers. Here is a list of our favorite Roku Channels.

5) Dolls n' Crafts by Happy Kids and 6) Rock n' Roll Kids

7) Phonics for Kids and 8) HappyKids Interactive

9) Girls Channel by Happy Kids and 10) Boys Den by Happy Kids

11) Little Pim - Language Learning for Kids (and great for adults as well)

12) Cocoro - TV for Kids (FREE)

Then, PBS for Kids (this is also available over the air as well)!

PBS Kids - This is one of my little one's favorite channels! Did I mention that it is FREE?

FREE Sesame Street

FREE Curious George

FREE Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood

FREE Wild Kratts

FREE Odd Squad

FREE Splash and Bubbles

FREE Ready, Jet, Go

FREE Nature Cat

FREE Arthur

FREE Peg + Cat

I mean, can you disagree that this is the BEST Roku Channel EVER??? :) You can read our blog post about PBS Kids here - Tune Into KERA Kids PBS - A 24 Hour Kids Channel for Families

A Preschooler's Review of Terry Treetop and the Little Bear by Tali Carmi

We hope you are having a great week!

This post contains affiliate links to help you build your shopping list and travel list for your family. We are passionate about the product and the experiences listed in this post, but we also wanted to provide easy links you can click to purchase products for your busy lifestyle.

Over the holidays, we visited my little one's grandparents in East Texas. This was an incredible road trip for her, because she enjoys the drive. However, it is difficult to keep those important bedtime routines and travel with minimal items.

As a result, we travel light and incorporate mommy's iPad in the bedtime routine by utilizing the Kindle App. We have the Kindle Unlimited plan and this has been great for those busy times when working parents cannot visit the library during the week. Here's our video review!

Remember, we are on our journey to read 1,000 books before kindergarten and the book for the first night of our trip was Terry Treetop and the Little Bear. This book was great and it engaged my preschooler the entire time!

She enjoyed the pictures and rated this book higher than the other books that she read during the weekend. She loves the five star rating system and she will rate books MORE stars or LESS stars than the other books during the week's timeframe.

Check out the hashtag for this book - #TerryTreetopandtheLittleBear

Have a great week and plan for the weekend! Come back next week for our weekly review!

Yes, You Can Plan a Family Cruise in Less Than 48 Hours! - Our Cruise to Cozumel

This summer, we were very fortunate to plan mini vacations with our two year old!

Our first trip was a CRUISE to Cozumel from Galveston! It was only a four-day cruise, but it was super inexpensive (before the regular travel season - summer). I saw the rate only 2 days before the departure date and we paid for and planned the trip in less than 48 hours!

How to Save Money on Domestic and International Airline Fares!

We love saving money on trips! As a result, we like to read our local paper, the Fort Worth Star Telegram, because it always features new tips and ideas for travel!
