Parents, When You Travel - You Need Lunch Notes!

Our daughter began her first week of school last week and it has been a whirlwind of emotions for me. I am excited to get her out of the house during the day and for her to learn all of the things she needs to know this year. However, I realize that I only have a few more years with her and I have to maximize my time.

These years are especially important when I have to be away from her for weeks or months at a time. When I had to be away for two weeks this summer, I felt HORRIBLE and I made quick trip to the larger Dollar Tree in the next city to purchase 15 days of super small, but girly gifts for to connect with and entertain her while I was away. When I travel for work, I have to prepare in advance.

These connections are also important when she takes her tests and tries out for sports teams during the day. I try to make the best connections at lunch time, when she has a break. I used to write little notes for her on post-its, but I realize that this is A LOT to do when you have -all the things - to do around the house.

I found this brand to utilize as her daily lunch notes. She loves jokes and these are funny lunch notes for my daughter. She loves getting short, sweet and colorful lunch notes from mom. They are quick and easy to use and they are not super expensive. Also, there are several different varieties:

I actually made a comment to her last night that she has been using the same lunch kit from Land's End for the past six years! Talk about quality!

Even as the caregiver of two senior parents, I would have LOVED these notes. These are also great lunch notes for adults! Notes like these would make a huge difference in the lives of the seniors in our community. Show them that you care.

We know you LOVE these notes as much as we do! The price point in great and the colors are engaging! Check them out! Also, this post has a links that benefit our Amazon store!

Sincerely,

Four Ways Busy Moms Can Prepare for Kindergarten

Four Ways Busy Moms Can Prepare for Kindergarten
Tomorrow, my kid hits another milestone - kindergarten! I've had such a hard time with this transition after my mother passed away this summer, because SHE WAS SUPPOSED TO HELP ME.

I know that she is with us during this process and we think of her everyday, but it is still a very lonely process. So, I had to organize everything with the help of the internet! We ordered the back pack (that will last us for years to come), the Bento Box, kindergarten friendly fashion products, and parent school supplies (because we need them too).

The North Face Look - After visiting Canada at the beginning of the summer, I purchased a North Face backpack from the new kindergartener! It was incredibly expensive, but we will continue to use it until her second grade year. I hope!

Lunchtime Toddler Style - We also purchased a Boon Bento Box lunch kit. It had everything that I wanted at a fraction of the bento box price. Usually, you have to purchase the bento box, the lunch kit, and the individual containers, but this bento box has everything you need AND it functions as a lunch kit!

We also had to purchase lunch items for our bento box, plastic bags, and several individually packaged items. Now, I plan to incorporate reusable bags as well!

Kindergarten Fashion - I had to plan a funeral and handle various forms of my "new life" (life after my mom passed) and I did not have a chance to shop. So, I decided to browse and purchase items from Amazon and Ebay to build my kindergartener's new wardrobe. More to come about this!

Don't Forget Your Parent Gear Too! - Parents need accessories for signing documents and documenting memories! This is YOUR kit! Get your Weekends Count Parent Supply Kit. No, just kidding, it is Writing Essentials Kit from Sharpie, Papermate, Expo, but it is extremely inexpensive and helpful!

Begin Your After School Conversations with Plum Mash-Ups! & A Back to School Giveaway!

We hope you are having a great week!

As we begin our journey to the beginning of the fall semester of school, I worry about key items that I need to have in my car at the end of each day to guide my conversation with my little one as we commute home.

Our commute usually includes pretzels or chips, but I found a new healthier addition to our preschool commute conversations. Our new conversation staple will include apple sauce, fruits, and vegetables! Sounds too good to be true? All of these can be accomplished with Plum Mashups!

We received four Organic Plum Mash-ups to review from BzzAgent! include the following flavors: Beetbox Berry, Berry, Blueberry Blitz, and Carroty Chop!

Beetbox Blitz - This flavor only has 50 calories, 5 mg of sodium, 105 mg of potassium, 13 carbs, and 9 grams of sugar!

Berry - This flavor only has 45 calories, 100 mg of potassium, 12 carbs, and 9 grams of sugar!

Blueberry Blitz - This flavor only has 50 calories, 10 mg of sodium, 105 mg of potassium, 13 carbs, and 9 grams of sugar!

Carroty Chop - This flavor only has 50 calories, 5 mg of sodium, 115 mg of potassium, 13 carbs, and 9 grams of sugar!

We loved Plum foods when my little one transitioned to food as a baby and we've been incorporating new Plum foods for the past few years as snack foods! Now, these are amazing! Our favorite one as the Blue Berry Blitz flavor!

This week, I will mail two of these coupons and a back to school pack to TWO READERS! Write a comment in the box below with the flavor that you are most interested in trying for a back to school conversation. This contest ends on Friday, August 19th at midnight.

Have a great week and plan for the weekend!
