Experience Independence Day in Granbury - The Celebration Capital of Texas! 🎆

🇺🇸Are you as excited about the Granbury Fourth of July as we are? We were so excited to capture the trucks, horses, boats, floats and amazing displays of creativity featured during last year’s parade. 🇺🇸

🥳 We are proud of live in and encourage others to visit the Celebration Capital of Texas because there is always a celebration, festival, or special event held in Granbury. Granbury is in Central Texas and it 35 minutes from Interstate 20 and around 45 minutes form Interstate 30.

🚎 We love the trolley and it is an incredible way to travel from place to place in Granbury.

🏨The hotels are top notch and the staff members are always open to a conversation about their love for the city! In fact, we were eating breakfast in the Hilton Garden Inn and a guest asked me was I vistiting. I replied that I was not, but I love living in the city of Granbury!

🌟The grandson of the Granbury Hilton Garden Inn’s manager overhead us and chimed in too! He said, “I LOVE Granbury!”

We hope you feel the same way when visiting our town. Visit our small town during Independence Day week and stay awhile! You might like it enough to stick around for a few years… We did!

Here’s the usual schedule for Independence Day!

9am - The parade!

The two-mile long parade begins at Granbury High School and stretches around town. There is not a bad place to view the parade along the route. We were actuallly located by the downtown car wash last year and it was a great location!

After the Parade - There are many opportunities to hear music and see local demonstrations of karate and dance!

7:30pm - The Independence Day Rodeo

9:45pm(ish) - Get ready to view the fireworks from almost every corner of town! We can actually see the fireworks from our backyard!

Texas Holidays - Christmas at the Texas Horseshoe Bay Resort

This Christmas, our family decided to visit the Horseshoe Bay Resort in Horseshoe Bay, Texas. My husband and I had been to the resort a couple of times for New Year's and Christmas, but this time we decided to invite my parents, my in-laws, and our newest edition... Baby Girl!

The drive is 2 and 1/2 hours from home and we arrived around 3pm. Our rooms were ready and we had a swift check-in. When we checked in, I was greeted with a whistle from the parrot in the lobby (Joseph) and a sweet glance from the Betta fish on the front desk (one was placed at each station). Pure bliss! As rewards guests, we received an upgrade and we were placed in the James Bowie Suite! Thank Goodness for James Bowie, because the suite was amazing! We had a wonderful view of the pool from our balcony and a wonderful seating area.

Alex (at the front desk) was amazing and we visit many Texas hotels and resorts throughout the year and she has one of the best attitudes and focus on customer service that I have seen this year!

The Spa at the Horseshoe Bay Resort!
We booked the Relaxation Package which included: a) SPA treatment and b) Breakfast Buffet each day.

Christmas at the Horseshoe Bay Resort...

Each day was just like Christmas...right before Christmas Day! The resort was decorated impeccably and the music throughout the lobby set the mood for the holiday! The first day, we were handed a schedule and it was filled with amazing activities each hour!

Dining at the Resort...

The food was outstanding! The daily selection ranged from biscuits and gravy to smoked salmon and a selection of delectable fruit.

On Christmas Eve, we were reluctant to pay $34 per person for the meal, but this selection was definitely worth the price! Wonderful entree selection: salmon, quail, prime rib, and my favorite... truffle mashed potatoes.

The dessert selection was fabulous as well!

By the way, the dining staff was amazing! Especially, William, Matthew and the staff from Shreveport and New Orleans! I can definitely see them doing great things at the resort!

Christmas at Horseshoe Bay...

On the first day, we walked around the numerous trails at the resort, one of which featured a flamingo, parrots, a puffin, waterfalls, and amazing scenery! Then, we visited the activities center and it was decorated VERY well (including little elves and a tricycle hanging from the ceiling). Something magical happened and Santa appeared! Our family has been on a search for St. Nick since Thanksgiving! We wanted to take an inaugural picture with Baby Girl and Santa and we finally had a chance.

Our Christmas was complete when at the Christmas Eve dinner, we were asked how many children were in our party. We told them one and they delivered a beautiful red stocking filled with crayons and others neat gifts for baby girl to our door! When we arrived back from dinner, the stocking was on the door and I was overjoyed! It made our Christmas complete!

Traveling with a Baby at Horseshoe Bay Resort...

The resort definitely caters to guests with children! Most rooms feature a refrigerator, which is great for snacks and milk! Within a few hours, a pack and play was delivered (with a comforter) to our room. The pack and play was essential for new parents, because our little one is almost walking independently and she loves exploring!

In addition, to the usual hotel visit, this visit featured a reading of "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" with Mrs. Claus, milk and cookies for Santa, pictures with Santa, complimentary apple cider and hot chocolate, caroling, and meeting new friends from other families.

Spa Services at the Horseshoe Bay Resort..

This has been a long, but amazing year for me (as a new mom) and I needed a break, so I booked a pedicure and massage. The spa services were absolutely amazing and the pedicure was wonderful! Deborah did my pedicure and she was extremely professional and focused on customer service. Amazing woman! She also teaches a few of the yoga and Pilates classes at the resort - I definitely have to take one of these next time!

We plan to come back next Christmas and I might come back during Spring Break week! Another review!

Sincerely,
